The projector has a distortion correction amount adjuster making an outline production part to produce outlines corresponding to parts of an outline form of a projected image if a value of calculated values of an amount of distortion correction is beyond a predetermined range. The outline production part produces the outlines while adjusting the amount of distortion correction set in an image distortion correction part.
