FIELD: electrode production. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with field of electrode production and may be used in production of anodes of aluminum electrolyzers for electrowinning aluminum. The offered method provides mixing of a coking charge with a pitch and forming a mass. At that for mixing they feed either the powder-like pitch with size of less than 2 mm and a coking charge heated up to temperature by 50-90 higher than the double temperature of softening of a pitch, or the melted pitch with the temperature twice exceeding the temperature of softening of a pitch and a coking charge with temperature by 15-25 higher than the temperatures of the melted pitch. Forming of the mass in both events is realized at the temperature of anodic mass equal to 100-150. The technical effect is an increase of quality of the briquettes and anodic mass, that is: increased strength of the briquettes, decreased porosity, increased mechanical strength, decreased collapsibility of CO2 in the current.
