<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable highly efficient operation while keeping a solid polyelectrolytic membrane wet without deteriorating its properties due to lack of moisture. <P>SOLUTION: In a fuel cell constituting a single cell by holding a solid elecrtode junction body with two separators each comprising a gas flow path, an inlet area 2e for a fuel gas which flows in from the outside of the gas flow path for the fuel gas provided in the one separator 1A and an outlet area for an oxydizing agent gas which flows out toward the gas flow path for the oxydizing agent provided in the other separator are arranged in such a position that they are opposed to each other while sandwiching the membrane electrode junction body therebetween, and the gas flow paths are configured so that the gases flowing through these areas are orthogonal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
