PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for supervising surroundings of a vehicle for properly displaying whether or not a prescribed space such as a space required for getting on / off of a passenger or for loading / unloading of a cargo is reserved at the outside of an opening of the vehicle after the stop of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The supervising apparatus includes: an environmental information detection means SR for detecting and storing environmental information such as the size and the position or the like of an object around the vehicle; a vehicle information detection means MB for sequentially detecting and storing the position and the attitude of the vehicle; an information composite means CB for composing the detected information items and corrects the relation of relative position and attitude of the vehicle to the peripheral environment and outputs the result; and a switching means DR that is projected to the outside of the vehicle and makes an opening using the environmental information around a particular position of the vehicle on the basis of the output information. A particular visual field generating means SV generates a particular visual field including the outer space of the opening by the switching means and a display means VD displays the particular visual field as the image. Thus, whether or not the prescribed space (space required for getting on / off of a passenger or loading / unloading of a cargo) exists at the outside of the opening of the vehicle can be confirmed after the stop of the vehicle.
