PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reader capable of preventing a deterioration in read information (an image) in the case of simultaneously reading an original having information (image) on both sides in a skimming system. SOLUTION: A plurality of originals are continuously fed by an original automatic feeding means, the information (image) of the originals is read by a reading means (a step S1108), in this case, light volume variation of a light source which irradiates the originals is detected between the originals to be fed (a step S1110) and when the light volume variation equal to or more than a prescribed value is detected (a step S1111), a shading correction coefficient for executing shading correction of the reading means is updated (steps S1103, 1104).
