PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprayed-coating forming method whereby a sprayed coating excellent in resistance to impact peeling is formed well. SOLUTION: In a first method for forming a sprayed coating, a projection material is projected onto the surface of a substrate before the sprayed coating is formed on the surface. The surface hardness of the substrate after the projection material is projected is higher than the surface hardness of the substrate before the projection material is projected; and the average surface roughness Ra of the substrate after the projection material is projected is 6.0μm or less. In a second method for forming a sprayed coating, a projection material is projected onto the surface of a substrate and then the surface is polished before the sprayed coating is formed on the surface. The surface hardness of the substrate after polishing is higher than the surface hardness before the projection material is projected; and the average surface roughness Ra of the substrate after the polishing is 6.0μm or less.
