The method is applied in the fire-fighting practice. It ensures higher accuracy during operation. It is realised by heating the flammable liquid in a closed cylindrical vessel up to flash point temperature. Using gas/liquid chromatography, the pressure of saturated vapours of the flammable liquid at flash point temperature is determined, flushing hydrogen at a flow rate of 4-10 l/min. through the liquid.
