摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve mechanism, continuously varying the valve lift amount. SOLUTION: A sun shaft is turnably pivoted parallel to a cam shaft to a cylinder head member. One end of a planetary arm is fixed to the sun shaft to be turned in a body. A balance-like rocker arm is rockably pivoted to the other end of the planetary arm by a rocker arm shaft parallel to the sun shaft. On the outer peripheral surface of the rocker arm, one outer peripheral surface taking the rocker arm shaft as a boundary is taken as a cam slipper surface having a radius extending from the center of the sun shaft to the base circle of a cam and it abuts on the base circle of the cam. Similarly the other outer peripheral surface taking the rocker arm shaft as the boundary is taken as a slipper surface having a radius equal to a distance from the center of the sun shaft to the back of a sub-rocker arm, and it abuts on the back of the sub-rocker arm to be pressed thereto. The sub-rocker arm is supported on the cylinder head member taking one end as a rocking fulcrum, and the other end abuts on a valve stem head part similarly to the conventional engine.
