PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system capable of easily setting addresses of a plurality of apparatuses associated with one another on a network. SOLUTION: A gateway apparatus 100 sets its own IP address by using a switch installed in its own apparatus. The gateway apparatus 100 calculates an IP address of a destination by selecting the destination IP address equal to (own IP address +1) when the own IP address is an odd number and the destination IP address equal to (own IP address -1) when the own IP address is an even number.
