PURPOSE:To enhance the energy conversion efficiency by a method wherein the circumference of a conductive fine wire is coated with silicon, this fine wire is used as an electrode on one side, and it is connected to other electrode sandwitching a P-N junction. CONSTITUTION:An N-type silicon semiconductor 8 is coated on the circumference of a conductive fine wire 7 of 5 to 500mum in diameter, and when the whole surface of a group III impurity diffused N-type silicon semiconductor 8 is formed into P-type silicon semiconductor 8 to the specific depth before reaching the semiconductive fine wire 7, a P-N junction surface 10 is formed bet when the two semiconductors 8 and 9. By connecting a metal electrode 11 to the P-type silicon semiconductor 9, a solar battery electrode 12 is obtained. When the ray of the sun 4 is applied to the element 12, electromotive force directed to the conductive fine wire 7 from the metal electrode 11 is produced, and the solar energy is directly converted to electric energy. As a result, energy conversion efficiency can be enhanced. |
