<p>The invention relates to a process for preparing N-phosphono-methylglycine by reacting a hexahydrotriazine compound with a triacyl phosphite in an organic solvent, hydrolyzing the resulting phosphono compound after prior extraction into an aqueous phase and separation from the organic phase.
