PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air-conditioner having improved manufacturing property by allowing the attachment of a wire guard on a vertical grill assembly having a plurality of vertical grills to be detachably mounted in an air outlet to facilitate the fabrication of types requiring the wire guard for the air outlet separately from types not requiring it.

SOLUTION: The indoor unit for the air-conditioner comprises an indoor heat exchanger 3 and a blower 4 stored in an indoor unit body 2. The vertical grill assembly 6 having the plurality of vertical grills and the wire guard 7 is detachably mounted in the air outlet 1a of the indoor unit body 1.
