<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape drive which secures high servo performance and low error performance by regulating a fluctuation in the width direction of a traveling tape when an information signal is read/written from a high-density recording tape. <P>SOLUTION: This tape drive is provided with a guide row constituted to be freely attached to the base thereof in which tape guides constituted to preadjust guide heights and guide intervals before a guide row 1 is attached are arrayed, wherein the fluctuation in the tape width direction of a tape traveling system is highly accurately regulated, so that servo performance and error performance on a higher density recording tape are secured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
