摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light modulation device in which a complicated optical adjustment is unnecessary when a one-dimensional type light modulator element is used, and excellent dependability and stability are given by furnishing an optical adjustment mechanism having a simple structure. SOLUTION: The light modulation device is provided with a first adjustment means 5 which has a first lens 1 which collimates light diffused from a light source at least in a first direction, for example, Y-direction, and a second lens 2 which focuses the light emitted from the first lens 1 in a second direction (for example, X-direction) which is substantially orthogonal to the optical axis and to the first direction, and adjusts position by moving the optical path from the light source into the second direction; a second adjustment means 6 which adjusts the position by moving the second lens 2 in a third direction (for example, z-direction) substantially along the optical axis; a third adjustment means 7 which adjusts the position by moving the second lens 2 in a turning direction around the third direction; and a monitor means 22 for the light emitted from the second lens 2 and emitted by being modulated with the light modulator element.
