<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the size of a document placed in non-flat state on a document placing tray is automatically and accurately detected even without a special mode setting operation by a user. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an automatic document feeder including a 1st document size detecting means for detecting the size of the document placed on the document placing tray and a 2nd document size detecting means for detecting the transport direction size of the document being transported, and in the image forming apparatus, a control means judges the document size by adopting/rejecting the information from the 2nd document size detecting means based on information from the 1st document size detecting means and perfroms control so that the document image reading operation is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
