PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the failure that a carriage bites a screw thread due to the malfunction of a stepping motor in the conventional clipping type carriage. SOLUTION: The lens device 100 is equipped with: a lens support member, that is, a main lens barrel 120; the screw thread 122 which is rotatable with respect to the lens support member 120; the stepping motor 124 for rotating the screw thread 122; a lens frame 126 which can be moved by the rotation of the screw thread 122; a movable lens frame 126 which is attached to the lens frame 126; and a movement limiting device which limits the moving range of the movimg lens 114. The movement limiting device includes: a screw rotation stopping member which is fixed to the screw thread 122 and stops the rotation of the screw thread 122; and a rotation stopping and resting member for stopping the rotation of the screw thread 122 by being brought into contact with the screw rotation stopping member.
