PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a shock in a video image when switching a signal processing function. SOLUTION: As boundary exposure control, processing which changes a synthetic ratio in a second signal processing means, a compression rate and a mixing ratio of brightness information for exposure control is performed in a form which connects the exposure control at the time of a function of a first signal processing means and the exposure control at the time of a function of the second signal processing means. As a result, the boundary exposure control is performed in a transition period wherein the operation of the first signal processing means and the operation of the second signal processing means are switched. Hence, a difference of output video images (difference of luminance and color) which is caused by a difference of a processing algorithm and the exposure control in the first and the second signal processing means is absorbed.
