SUSPENSION AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise impact resistant reliability by suppressing a slider from jumping or leaping up from a magnetic disk when an impact is impressed to a suspension and by preventing a magnetic head from being brought into contact with the disk in its turn. SOLUTION: This is a suspension equipped with a flexture 4 which holds a slider 5, a beam 3 on which the flexture 4 is installed, a load bending member 2 which elastically supports the beam 3 at one end and an arm 1 which fixes the other end of the load bending member 2. The beam 3 has a beam extension part 6 which extends toward the rotational axis of the arm 1 from the bending reference point of the load bending member 2. Moreover, the beam extension part 6 is made to be in non-contact with the arm 1 or to be projected from the back of the arm 1 in the load-on state of the slider 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
