METHOD FOR SEARCHING MUSIC BY COMPARING MUSIC MELODY AND HUMMING MELODY INPUTTED BY USER

PURPOSE: A method for searching music by using a melody query as input is provided to search a song based on all or partial similarity measurement between a humming melody and a music melody by receiving the humming melody inputted from a user. CONSTITUTION: A music database(1) stores music data. A music data melody feature extractor(2) extracts melody features from the music data of the music database. A melody feature database(3) stores the extracted music melody feature information. A query melody feature extractor(4) automatically extracts the melody feature from inputted query melody. A searcher(5) searches the similarity by comparing the melody features extracted from the music data with the melody features extracted from the query melody and outputs a result.
