PURPOSE: High elastic sea-island type conjugate fiber is characterized by using an elastic polymer as an island ingredient. Therefore, the sea-island type conjugate fiber has 15-40% of a boiling water shrinkage and 0.001-0.3denier of a single yarn fineness of the island ingredient after eluting a sea ingredient. CONSTITUTION: A sea-island type conjugate fiber comprises a soluble polymer as a sea ingredient and a high elastic copolymerized polyester as an island ingredient. The soluble polymer is a copolymerized polyester, polyvinyl alcohol or polystyrene. The high elastic polyester is obtained by copolymerizing a polyethylene terephthalate and 3-15wt.% of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of isophthalic acid, dimethyl isophthalate, 2-2 bis(4-(2-hydroxy epoxy)phenyl)propane and neo pentyl glycol.
