PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely hold and take out the connection part and surplus part of a coated optical fiber in a short time and to improve the reliability when an arbitrary coated optical fiber is taken out without entwining with the surplus part of a coated optical fiber held by another holder when the coated optical fiber is taken out. SOLUTION: The connection parts 3 of coated optical fibers 1 and 2 are held side by side by the 1st storage part of the holder 21. The holder 21 is turned by one rotation to form a loop 41 of coated optical fibers 1 and 2 in a twisted surplus part 30. This loop 41 consists of a closed loop and partially held as a held part 30A by the 2nd storage part 31 of the holder 21. Then a fall-preventive metal fixture 33 closes the front-side opening part of the 2nd storage part 31 to prevent the held part 30A from falling.
