PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching relay by which a large switching force is obtained despite its small size. SOLUTION: This relay 1 is provided with a coil bobbin 2, a core 17 to penetrate through the coil bobbin, and a yoke 3. A cross sectional area of the core 17 is made larger at a transition region to the yoke 3 than the center region 31 of the coil bobbin 2 so as to achieve the switching force with a low height. Increased magnetic flux can be transported from the core 17 for cross sectional area enlarged parts 22, 23, and at the same time a more larger number of coil winding wires can be arranged due to the decreased cross sectional area.
