PURPOSE: A direct reactor cooling type method and a system for a removing remaining heat in a passive safety rating liquid metal reactor are provided to remove a remaining heat effectively. CONSTITUTION: A system for removing remaining heat in a passive safety rating liquid metal reactor is implemented on a reactor vessel(100) having a hot pool(150) on a reactor core side and a cold pool(200) on outside classified by a cylindrical reactor baffle and on the liquid metal reactor adjusting liquid levels between the hot pool and the cold pool by using a primary system pump during a normal operation. The system for a removing remaining heat includes more than one sodium-sodium heat exchanger(20), more than one sodium-air heat exchanger(40), and a sodium-loop for heat removal(30). The sodium-sodium heat exchanger is implemented on a liquid level higher than a level of the cold pool during a normal operation of the cold pool. The sodium-air heat exchanger is implemented on an upper portion of a reactor building. The sodium-loop for heat removal couples the sodium-sodium heat exchanger and the sodium-air heat exchanger.
