PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the working range of a locking mechanism provided on a cylinder for fluid pressure. SOLUTION: A cylinder body 42 retains a main piston 21 fixed to a piston rod 19 so as to reciprocate and is partitioned into a first pressure chamber 43 and a second pressure chamber 44. Two locking blocks 52, 53 having tapered surface 52a, 53a are mounted on the piston rod 19 so as to be shifted in the longitudinal direction of the piston rod 19. Two locking pistons 26, 36 having tapered surfaces 26c, 36c corresponding to the respective tapered surfaces 52a, 53a are fixed to the cylinder body 42 at a foremost position approached toward the piston rod 19 and a rearmost position separated from the locking blocks 52, 53 so as to reciprocate and to be shifted in the longitudinal direction of the piston rod 19.
