<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development apparatus for improving the image quality by preventing irregularities in electrification, due to the differences of the particle diameters and shapes of the toner to be electrified uniformly, and reducing the transport irregularities of the developer, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The development apparatus 40, provided with a transport mechanism 41 for transporting the developer T by using a traveling-wave electric field, is provided with a transport irregularities correcting electrode part 200 for uniformly electrifying the developer T in a development region, on the way of the developer of the transport mechanism 41.
