<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a display color not change and color purity not decrease with a view angle as to a reflection type color display device equipped with a dimming layer reflecting color light in a specified wavelength band by periodic variation in refractive index. <P>SOLUTION: The dimming layer 52 reflects color light of green when an external light incidence angle is 0°. A reflection type color display device having the dimming layer 52 is provided with a color filter layer 81, which absorbs blue light and transmits the green light and red light, on the external incidence side of the dimming layer 51. A dimming layer 53 reflects red color light when the external light incidence angle is 0°. A reflection type color display device having the dimming layer 53 is provided with a color filter layer 82, which absorbs blue light and green light and transmits the red light, on the external light incidence side of the dimming layer 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
