PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for replacement of a building, which enables a great reduction in a construction period and costs. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the replacement of the building, after a foundation 8 to be newly constructed, which has weight for resisting buoyancy, equivalent to a part of weight reduced by demolishing a ground skeleton 5, is constructed on a foundation 6 of the building 2 with an underground skeleton 4 which is built on ground 1 with a high groundwater level, the existing underground skeleton 4 and the existing ground skeleton 5 are demolished while an underground skeleton 14 to be newly constructed is constructed on the newly constructed foundation 8.
