PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate matching with an IC driver by adjusting capacitance without increasing the thickness of an EL element. SOLUTION: This EL element is composed by sequentially stacking a transparent electrode, a luminescent layer, a high-dielectric material layer and a back electrode. The capacitance of the EL element is adjusted by adding a white pigment or dye in the high-dielectric material layer in addition to high-dielectric material powder. Preferably, the high-dielectric material powder is barium titanate, and 2-10 wt.% is suitable for the ratio of the white pigment to barium titanate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
