PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air release valve for a storage bag which can evacuate the inside of the storage bag by making air suction force with a suction nozzle of an electric vacuum cleaner efficiently work in the storage bag, and at the same time, can surely lock the storage bag under an evacuated state after the evacuation. SOLUTION: A lid body 2 having an air suction hole 4 is fitted to a valve main body 1 having an air release hole 3 communicating with the inside of the storage bag. The upper surface of the lid body 2 is formed into a dome shape, then, even if an air suction nozzle C to be applied to the lid body 2 is disposed not only vertically but also inclinedly to the body 1, the air suction port of the air suction nozzle C can communicate with the air suction hole 4 to perform the evacuation work. In addition, a locking mechanism 10 comprising a cam protuberance 11 to be engaged/disengaged with/from the lower surface of the lid body 2 and the upper surface of a valve disc 6 which opens/closes the air discharging hole 3 and a stopper piece 12 is provided, and after the evacuation of the storage bag B, the valve disc 6 is kept under a pressedly attached state to the air release hole 3.
