PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use having high safety and improving a barrier function of the skin and having protective effect on heat and ultraviolet light, namely protecting the skin from external stimulation such as ultraviolet light or heat, repairing or ameliorating the damaged skin. SOLUTION: This skin care preparation for external use comprises a yeast extract obtained by culturing a yeast represented by Saccharomyces cervisiae or Saccharomyces boulardii under various stress conditions so as to produce a heat shock protein and a heat shock factor and extracting and filtering the yeast.
