<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device which is improved in use efficiency of its projected light. <P>SOLUTION: This electrooptical device is equipped with a light source (8), a light guide plate (6) where the light emitted by the light source (8) is made incident and which emits light from one surface, a prism sheet (5) having a plurality of prisms which are provided on the light guide plate and change the travel direction of the light emitted from the surface of the light guide plate and which are extended in the same direction, a 1st polarizing plate (2) which is provided on the prism sheet and has an axis of transmission at 130° or more and 190° or below to the extending direction and polarizes light transmitted through the prism sheet, an electrooptical panel which is provided on the first poalrizing plate and on which the light transmitted through the first polarizing plate is made incident, and a second polarizing plate (1) which is provided on the electrooptical panel and arranged on the opposite side from the first polarizing plate about the electrooptical panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
