PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure to make a material of a false insertion preventing key rigid and to make its shape securely fixed to a prescribed position on the receptacle side. SOLUTION: This false insertion preventing key 1 is obtained by integrally forming a slip-out preventing protrusion 5 in the middle abdomen part of the side of the long side of an almost L-shaped block 4 comprising a short side 2 made of a hard metal and the long side 3 perpendicular to it, and the long side 3 of the false insertion preventing key 1 is inserted in each of a plurality of groove holes provided at prescribed positions between an insulating material block end part having contacts on the receptacle side and a metallic shell to cover it, and in a slip-off preventing part provided in the groove hole, until the slip-off preventing protrusion 5 of the long sides 3 gets engaged with it. The short side 2 of the almost L-shaped block 4 stretches toward the outside of the groove hole to prevent a connector having no end part notch corresponding to it from being inserted in a receptacle.
