PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device which is constituted of a simple circuit structure in consideration of variance in the capacitance of a capacitor. SOLUTION: This charging device for a capacitors, in which a primary winding of an insulated transformer is connected to an AC power supply through a current-limiting element and a switch, and a secondary winding of the insulated transformer is fitted with a unit formed by connecting a capacitor group composed of a plurality of large-capacity capacitors with diodes in parallel and which is formed by connecting a plurality of sets of units in series, is connected with an input of an inverter for controlling an elevator driving motor to constitute an economical type power supply.
