PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly corrosion-resistant resin-coated wire which can be produced without using any adhesive containing an organic solvent harmful to humans and used to bond a plated wire to a resin coating layer, in which the plating layer and the resin coating layer are directly united at the interface between them, and which is advantageous in respect of a production environment, a use environment, and a manufacturing cost, and to provide a gauze using the wire. SOLUTION: In the resin-coated wire, the plated wire used is a 10% Al-Zn alloy rough-surface plated wire 2 where the plating layer surface is formed to be a finely satiny surface 2f comprising separated protrusions 2d and contiguous grooves 2e that separate the protrusions from each other, a resin coating layer 3 is applied to the surface of the plating layer in the 10% Al-Zn alloy rough-surface plated wire, and the interface between the plating layer 2b and the resin coating layer 3 is formed so that the resin of the resin coating layer and the separate protrusions and contiguous grooves of the satiny surface 2f may be in a state meshed each other.
