PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer rubber with both terminals modified, having an excellent fuel consumption-saving property. SOLUTION: The diene polymer rubber is obtained by carrying out the following processes. The processes comprise a process 1 of producing an active polymer by polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer or a conjugated diene monomer with an aromatic vinyl monomer in the presence of a compound represented by formula (1), and a process 2 of producing the polymer rubber with both the terminals modified by reacting the active polymer with a silyl compound represented by formula (2) (in formula 1, R is an N-substituted functional group; X is a hydrocarbon composed of polymerized conjugated diene monomer or aromatic vinyl monomer units; m is an integer of 0-10; n is an integer of 1-10; and M is an alkaline metal, and in formula 2, R<SB>1</SB>is a 1-4C alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzil group; R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>are each a 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzil group; p is an integer of 0-1; q is an integer of 1-5; Y is a halogen, an epoxy group or a vinyl group).
