PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to display pictures based on picture data from one computer on a plurality of monitors without incorporating a plurality of picture display processing parts into the computer. SOLUTION: Each of monitors 12(1)-12(N) is provided with 1st and 2nd I/O parts 40, 41, memory parts 42, 44 for storing inherent identification data and picture data, and a picture display part 46. When another monitor is connected to the 2nd I/O part 41, data supplied through the 1st I/O part 40 are supplied also to the other monitor through the 2nd I/O part 41. When picture data from a picture display processing part 26 in the computer 11 are supplied to one monitor through the 1st I/O part and identification data added to picture data supplied through the 1st I/O part 40 coincide or correspond to the inherent identification data in each monitor, the picture data concerned are inputted to the memory part and pictures are displayed on the picture display part.
