摘要 A non-absolute angle sensor (2) measures a periodic signal (7) indicating angular position of a rotating wheel and provides a characteristic line (5). The line is divided into several segments (S) between the characteristic line jumps (8). Several probabilistic mathematical models are used to calculate the absolute angular position of the steering wheel. The models are based on physical properties such as: the velocity difference between the front wheels; the velocity difference between the rear wheels; and/or the yaw velocity. The sensor signal (7) is corrected based on the combined outcome of the probabilistic models.
