A cutter for steel bands is provided to improve reliability of products and to enhance convenience of cutting work by sequentially performing length setting work and cutting work. A cutter for steel bands(20) comprises a base frame(10) having predetermined width and length, a receiving unit(30) for receiving the steel bands, an idle roller(40) for transferring the steel bands toward the other side of the base frame, a pressing unit provided at a rear portion of the idle roller to selectively press the steel bands, an encoder driving unit(60) for discharging the steel bands, a cutting unit for cutting the steel bands, and a control unit(80) for controlling the setting value of the steel band. Guide rollers(31) are provided at a lower portion of the receiving unit.
