SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device which improves the linear characteristic of a photodiode and increases the sensitivity. SOLUTION: A drive section of the solid-state imaging device of the present invention changes a substrate bias voltage into a second bias voltage for setting an overflow barrier higher than the barrier of a reading gate. The second bias voltage is lower than a first bias voltage. The overflow barrier is lowered by superimposing a saturation signal amount control pulse on the second bias voltage before all signals of a vertical CCD are discharged after an exposure period.
