PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent element, and its manufacturing method, manufactured in an industrial method with degradation by moisture absorption restrained. SOLUTION: By sealing an electroluminescent element body 10 with an alternately laminated moisture-proof film 100 provided with a first film 1 of an inorganic material formed on a base plate of an organic material, a second film 2 of a fluorocarbon system chemical substance or a water-repellent organic material formed on the first film 1, and a third film 3 of an inorganic material formed on the second film 2, the electroluminescent element 81 with degradation by moisture absorption restrained can be provided. Or, the electroluminescent element with degradation by moisture absorption restrained can also be provided by forming and sealing the first film, the second film and the third film on the electroluminescent element body.
