PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety handrail which can be easily transported on an existing lower-stage scaffolding board, and facilitates mounting thereof in a short period of time. SOLUTION: A tube and coupler scaffolding 4 is assembled by arranging, side by side, a plurality of struts 2 vertically extended by connection, and when assembling a single pipe scaffold 4 by stretching the scaffolding boards 3 between the adjacent struts 2, 2 in a plurality of upper and lower stages. The safety handrail 1 is constructed as a temporary handrail for a newly built upper-stage scaffolding board 3, from the existing lower-stage scaffolding board 3, and is formed of a pair of vertical rods 5, 5 attached along the struts 2, 2 adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction of the scaffolding board 3 and a foldable handrail main body 6 having both ends pivoted on the top end sides of the rods 5, 5 and foldable inward at a midpoint between the vertical rods 5, 5.
