PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work support device for easily performing setup changing work in a short time by reducing the number of tool plates required for changing setup when changing a type of work. SOLUTION: The work W is positioned and supported in a prescribed position of a first tool plate 20, by engaging a pair of positioning reference holes 28 formed at a prescribed interval on an under surface of the work W, with a pair of positioning pins 30 and 31 arranged on the first tool plate 20. In this case, a plurality of pairs of fitting holes 29A to 29D for supporting a plurality of kinds of works W different in an interval between the positioning reference holes 28, are formed on the first tool plate 20 or a second tool plate 21 installed on the first tool plate 20.
