<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system having a structure capable of preliminarily designating a print size by selecting a preferential mode of document size or recording paper size. <P>SOLUTION: This printing system comprises an extension/contraction means for extending or contracting a document image; a printing means for printing the document image; an operation means for instructing the start of operation to the extension/contraction means and the printing means; and one or more recording paper housing means for storing two or more sizes of recording papers.
