PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intestinal tract-cleaning composition used for pretreatment, or the like, of colonoscopy, surgery of large intestine and having excellent intestinal tract-cleaning effect. SOLUTION: The intestinal tract-cleaning composition does not substantially contain a chlorine ion (Cl<SP>-</SP>) in an intestinal tract-cleaning preparation comprising a water-soluble polymer and 10-150 mEq/L sodium ion, 1-20 mEq/L potassium ion and 10-30 mEq/L bicarbonic acid ion as electrolytes.
