PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a curved surface whose connecting condition with the original curved surface is held as a whole, and to easily perform the deforming operation of the curved surface in a shape creation system such as a CAGD. SOLUTION: This curved surface creation method comprises the steps of: selecting an original curved surface Si prior to deformation (202); setting a first graphic group SCi(72) by combining at least one passage curve or at least one passage range or both of them with at least one passage point on the original curved surface Si (203); designating an area(deformation area) including the first graphic group SCi(72) (204); selecting a moved second graphic group MCi(71) corresponding to the first graphic group SCi(72) in the deformation area (205); generating preliminary deformation data by an interpolated curve group CVi(83) connecting the second graphic group MCi(71) with an area outside the deformation area while holding the connection information on the original surface (206); and creating an interpolated curved surface S2 by interpolating the curve group and the area outside the deformation area while holding the connection information on the original curved surface (207). Thus, the deformation processing of the curved surface is easily performed and the smooth curved surface is created.
