An electromagnetic retarder (1) for a vehicle comprises a disc (20), a first rotor (5) and a second rotor (6), said disc connecting the first rotor and the second rotor to a drive shaft of a vehicle. According to the invention, a fixing of said transmission shaft to the electromagnetic retarder may be simplified whereby the disc is positioned on one of said rotors such as to have a longitudinal offset with relation to an axis (21) of the retarder in the direction of one of the two rotors. The disc comprises fixing means which permit the disc to be fixed to the corresponding rotor, said fixing means (22) being embodied to be positioned between the bent arms (9, 10) of the rotor. |
