A first global position signal receiver (GPS receiver), at an undefined location, receives first global position signal data (GPS Data) from global position satellites, in orbit above the earth. A first GPS Data defines a first location for a first GPS receiver, however, the location defined is inaccurate, with respec t to the actual location of the first GPS receiver, the defined location being offset a first distance and a first direction from the actual location of the first GPS receiver. A second GPS receiver, spaced from the first GPS receiver, at a second undefin ed location, receives second GPS Data from the satellites. The second GPS Data defines a second location for the second GPS receiver, the second Location defined being inaccurate with respect to the actual location of the second GPS receiver, being offset the same distance and the same direction as the first location. The first GPS Data and the second GPS Data are applied to a computer programmed t o calculate the difference between the two GPS Data. The difference between th e two GPS Data defines a distance and a direction between the first defined location and the second defined location. The derived distance and direction are the distance and the direction between the two GPS receivers.
|
