PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal medium having low threshold voltage, low rotational viscosity, rapid response time and at the same time having high specific resistance, high thermal stability, high UV stability and high voltage retention (VHR) in exposing to UV and heating, for displays such as M (matrix) LC, TN, STN (super twist nematic), VA (vertical alignment) or IPS (in-plane switching) display, in particular for TN-TFT (thin film transistor). SOLUTION: The liquid crystal medium comprises one or two or more kind of compounds expressed by general formula I, and one or two or more kind of UV stabilizers.
