METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIMETHYL CARBONATE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize hitherto-discarded CO2for the production of DMC (dimethyl carbonate) by returning the CO2to a steam reformer and to simplify the apparatus for the production of methanol and DMC.

SOLUTION: The method for the production of dimethyl carbonate comprises the recovery of carbon dioxide from the combustion exhaust gas discharged from a steam reformer 10 and a boiler, the use of a part of the carbon dioxide as a raw material of the steam reformer 10 to synthesize methanol and the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate by the reaction of the remaining carbon dioxide with a part of the produced methanol.
