<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and high quality ink jet recording paper sheet having high ink absorbency, glossiness, print concentration and blot resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording paper sheet having on a support at least two or more ink absorbing layers contains, in at least an ink absorbing layer located nearest to the support, wet silica fine particles crushed to 10 nm or less in the mean particle diameter of a primary particle and crushed to 10 to 300 nm in the mean particle diameter of a secondary particle and a hydrophilic binder. The recording paper sheet also contains, in an ink absorbing layer located apart furthest from the support, alumina with its specific surface area of 100 to 400 m<SP>2</SP>/g measured by BET method or alumina hydrate and a hydrophilic binder, and satisfies the formula: (wet silica mass + alumina or alumina hydrate mass)/(hydrophilic binder mass)=5.5 to 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
